Name That Bride
Submitted by: Diana of Palmdale, California
This game has become a favorite! Start by collecting pictures of
famous brides (cut from a bridal magazine). Paste her celebrity face over
the original face of the bride's (men, too!). It helps to paste these on
to card stock or something similar. Pass the pictures around the room,
but don't give the guests too much time on each picture. The guest with
the most correct answers wins. It's also fun to put in a picture of the
"real" bride and see how many people do not recognize her face! The game
takes a little preparation, but it is worth it!

Famous Couples
Submitted by: Lynn Y. of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
We played a game were everyone was given a sheet of paper with one half of
a famous couple on it. For example, Romeo (Juliet), Lucy (Ricky), Gracie Allen
(George Burns). Then the guests had to provide the name of the other half of the
famous couple. The person with the most correct answers at the end of a
ten minute period received a prize. This was a great game that everyone could play and loved.

Guess?
Submitted by: Deborah of Surrey, British Columbia
Blindfold the bride-to-be and then line up the groom-to-be and other men at
the party in front of her. She then has to feel their rear end and identify her man. For the
groom-to-be, he has to identify his bride-to-be by having the women kiss him.

Guest Bingo
Submitted by: Gina of Springfield, Massachusetts
Have the guest fill in each square with the name of a guest. If a lot of people don't
know one another, fill them out yourself - different on each card, of course.
As the bride opens her gifts and announces its giver, the guest checks off a box.
Gifts for X number of people winning as you go.

Box Of Wisdom
Submitted by: Gina of Springfield, Massachusetts
Have each guest fill out an index card upon arrival with words of wisdom/advice
or a relevant Bible verse. Place each card in a recipe-type box as a gift to
the bride - for a "rainy" day or any day when she needs a lift!

Guess The Groom

kiss her on the cheek. Then, have her guess which one
was her fiancé. Do the same thing with the groom-to-be.

Make Up
Submitted by: Nicole of Sydney, Australia
Write down the name of items of makeup on little bits of paper - eyeliner, lipstick, blusher, eyebrow
pencil, etc. Place the pieces of paper in a hat and have all these items of makeup ready
to use. The bride-to-be sits in a chair and the guests in turn are given a
pick out of the hat. They must read the name of the makeup item. Then, a blindfold is placed
on the guest and then she has to apply the item of makeup to the bride. This
is so funny! I ended up with eyebrow pencil on my forehead and lipstick
all over my chin. Makes for good photos!

Underwear
Submitted by: Shannon of Emlenton, Pennsylvania
Each guest is asked to bring a pair of fun underwear to the
shower (fun, sexy, large briefs, etc). As the guests arrive, they hang
their underwear on a clothesline which is strung across the room. The
bride gets to guess who brought which underwear. When it is over, the
bride has many new pair of underwear to keep. It is also fun for her to
guess which underwear you brought.

Name Tag Game
Submitted by: Heather of Chicago, Illinois, USA
As each guest arrives, give her a name tag and at least five clothespins.
The name tags are names such as Lingerie, Foreplay, Bachelorette, etc. The
object of the game is for the guests to call each other by the name on the
tag. You CANNOT call them by their real name at anytime during the
shower. The game ends closer to the end of the shower. Whoever has the
most pins wins!

specific on brand and size of items. How many items is totally up to you.
Have the guests try to guess the correct price for each item. Then, have
them add up their totals and the one that comes the closest to the correct
price wins a prize. You'll be surprised to see ow many people go way over
on the total.

Guess Who!
Submitted by: Kari L. of Bloomington, Minnesota, USA
Instruct each guest to wrap their shower
present in some way that will make the bride guess who the gift is from.
You also need to make sure that cards are placed inside the gift box. Some
guests went all out on this - spending hours decorating their present which
led to many laughs.

What the Bride Knows
Submitted by: April of Marshall, USA
When everyone arrived at my sister's shower, we asked the bride to sit in the
middle of the floor. We asked her ten questions about her family and the
groom's family (we got the questions and its corresponding answers from family members prior to the shower). It was a great
game. And it was suprising to see what she didn't know.

Unwrap the Gift
Submitted by: Sharona B. of New York, USA
I came up with a great game that's sure to make a fun party.
Wrap up a really nice gift about 15-20 times. Have your guests sit around
in a circle. Ask the bride to stand with her back to the guests. Tell
the DJ or band to play music while the wrapped gift is passed around from
guest to guest. Let the bride stop the music whenever she wants to. When
the music stops, the guest holding the gift unwraps one layer of gift wrap. Keep the
music playing and stopping until the person who unwraps the last layer and sees the gift, WINS IT!

Opening the Gift While Getting Dressed
Submitted by: Valerie M. of Redlands, California, USA
Have all guests arrange their chairs in a big circle. Pick one
person to start. Give that person a crazy hat, a pair of gloves, a purse and a
scarf. Along with these items, hand that person a gift that has been wrapped
about five times over with tape around the edges and tight curly string, making
the gift difficult to open. To the left of this person, hand the guest a pair
of dice and something to roll the dice in. The object of the game is for the
first person to dress up: put on hat, gloves, scarf & purse and start
trying to open the present. Meanwhile, the person to their left is
rolling the dice trying to get doubles. When that person gets doubles,
they grab the getup and the present from the first person and start
dressing up and trying to open the present while the person to their left
rolls for a double. This continues until the present is finally opened
and the person who opens it gets to keep the gift. This is a hilarious
game because people really want to open the present and it's difficult
with the getup!

Bingo Version #4
Submitted by: Brenda of Troy
While working with children, the old standby game of bingo
insired me. Shower bingo 5 squares across and 5 squares down. Fill each square with a gift idea.
At least two gifts on each card should be bogus. For example, bowling ball this makes
for conversation and more challenging game. When the gift is opened, a mint is placed
on the card if gift and card spot match. Winner yells "bingo!" and gets a
prize. Guests love it and so does the bride because there is less focus directly on
her. Guests almost hate to see the last gift opened. Dress up the cards
with borders or use already decorated computer paper. Enjoy!

Jail
Submitted by: Sarah of Peterborough, Canada
Have a spot in the room roped off and declared as "jail." People pay $1 to put
someone in "jail" (usually the bride or groom).
People have to pay $2 to get them out. This works well with
mother-in-laws and new siblings.
Also, you can have goldfish races in pieces of plastic eavestroughing. BIG
hit with the guys.

Auction
Submitted by: Pam of Antigo, Wisconsin, USA
Before the shower, the host/hostess comes up with a list of
characteristics and price of various gifts. For example, one penny for each child, .05 cents
if you were married in the same month the bride-to-be will be, .10 cents if
you are wearing glasses, etc. Place the wrapped gifts in a pile in the center
of the room. As the host reads the characteristics, each guest collects
money (provided and returned to the host) accordingly. At the end of the
list, the auction begins. Guests use the money "earned" to buy the gifts
from the pile. When everyone has received a gift, they may open it and
see what they purchased.

Don't Cross Your Legs Version #2
Submitted by: Ylda of San Antonio, Texas, USA
This is a variation to the safty pin game or clothing pin game.
The game is exactly the same, but instead of using pins use stickers that
have love themes or wedding themes. Click here for Version #1 of this game.
