Play Another Love Song
Submitted by: by Missy B. of Clinton, Maryland
You will need a cassette tape of snippets from
songs that have the words love, loves or lover. You should have snippets from
about 10-15 songs. After you play the tape, each person has to try to guess the
name of the song and the artist/group that sings that particular song. For
example, you could use snippets of "I Could Fall in Love" by Selena or "Love
Train" by the O'Jay or "I Got Love on my Mind" by Natalie Cole, etc. It's a
great game that a lot of the guests think is very unique!

Quiz The Bride
Submitted by: Julie of Akron
At my sister's bridal shower the guests got to see just how well the
bride knew the groom. The maid of honor called my sister's fiancé and asked him
questions like "What is your favorite pizza topping?" to "His favorite Bible verse" and
"What was your most embarrassing childhood memory?" Even questions like "Where was your first
kiss?" It was a lot of fun. The maid of honor had the answers written on a poster board
and held the poster above her head as she answered each of the questions. Suprisingly my
sister did awesome. It was fun watching her sweat!

Introductions
Submitted by: Teresa B. of Upper Sandusky, Ohio
In each bridal shower invitation, ask each guest to bring
a non perishable grocery item of which its first letter begins
with the initial of their first name. Inform each guest not to wrap
the item. Some examples: Teresa - tomato soup, Susan - sugar, Mary - Macaroni, etc.
At the beginning of the shower, have each guest introduce
herself as she presents her grocery item to the bride.
This not only is a great way to introduce the guests to one another, it
helps the bride and groom stock their pantry. Another
version is to have each person bring their favorite recipe
for the bride and bring one item listed in the recipe.

Before the shower, the bride-to-be purchases about 5-10 household items
(ie. cleaning products, coffee, toilet paper & so on). At the shower, for
each item three contestants are called and each is given a chance to guess the
price of the item. The guest who guesses the closest to the true price of the item

The Piece of Yarn
Submitted by: Maria
When each guest arrives, have her tell you how long or short of a piece of
yarn they want, without telling them what it will be used for. During lunch,
announce whoever thinks their piece of yarn will fit around the
bride-to-be's breasts. The guest with the piece of yarn that does wins a prize.
You can substitute the breasts with her waist. It's quite a fun game when you look at the piece of yarn the guest asked for.

Mad-Libs
Submitted by: Heather of Thousand Oaks
Here is a fun game that will get everyone involved. Do you remember
Mad-Libs? It is a pre-printed story that is missing all the major nouns,
verbs, etc. Ask each guest for an adjective, noun, verb, or whatever
the game sheet calls for and then read the story at the end of the "gift
opening" session. You will soon see what great laughs this brings! You can
find Mad-Lib books at any bookstore. They have ones especially made
for with wedding themed parties. The words are given from each guest
throughout the party. You'll soon be telling a story about when the
"shocking" bride "skips" down the "slide" to marry her "skimpy" husband
at the "store." Get the idea!

Veggie Letter
Submitted by: Wendy J. of Amherst
Write out a story about the bride and groom and have blanks in it to
fill in with the names of fruits and vegtables. For example, "You are
the ____ (apple) of my eye. ____ (honeydew) you love me? Yes, but
we (____ canteloupe) now. If you tell me no, then I will go to the river
____ (endive) in." This is a fun and humorous game.

Cut The Cake
Submitted by: Catherine of ShaoXing
Put some flour in a teacup and pack it down. Then
turn it upside down on a plate. You should have a little "cake"
of flour. Carefully lay a penny in the middle of the "cake." Do not break the
"cake." Now the first player has to take a knife and slice off a
piece of the "cake." The object is NOT to disturb the penny. If
you cut off too much, the penny falls and you have to fish it out
- WITH YOUR NOSE! Slide the plate from player to player until somebody
has made the penny fall. Then repack the flour and start over!

Hot Gift
Submitted by: Rosa A. of Hackensack, New Jersey
Prior to the shower, wrap a sexy gift intended for the bride-to-be a
few times. After each wrapping, write a note. For example, "Pass
this gift to the girl with the biggest breasts." As the gift is passed
around, each person removes one wrapping and passes it to the next person
according to what the next note says. The messages can also include things
like "A person who you would like to hear singing a love song, imitating a
poetic & seductive poem, etc." Make sure that you begin by giving it to
the bride-to-be and ending the game with her. The last note can say, for example,
"Pass this gift to the bride-to-be, the girl getting married within the
next month, etc." It is an amusing and entertaining game which
involves everyone, especially if you compose the notes according to
your guest list so that each person gets a chance.
