Toss the Bouquet
Submitted by: Kari of Garden Grove
I explained to the guests that usually the bride has someone in mind when she tosses her bouquet... so we are going to practice. I made the bouquet out of a bunch of silk flowers and tied a ribbon around the bottom. I led everyone outside where I had a line marked for the people to stand behind. Then, about 10 yards away, I drew a circle for the bouquet to land in (that represents that special someone). Everybody took turns standing backwards and tossing the bouquet. I used two markers to indicate where the bouquet landed and if the next bouquet toss was closer, I would replace the marker with the farthest one. Everyone had a blast and thought it was real unique.

"I Never..."
Submitted by: Kris of Erie
First, give each guest eight pieces of candy (eg. M&M's™). Starting with the bride, she must confess one thing she's never done (eg. "I never smoked.") The confessions could get a little dirty. Any guest who has done what was confessed must eat one piece of candy. Go around until every guest has told one thing they never did. The guest who has the most candy left wins the game. You can also give a prize for the one who has done it all and has no candy left.

A Hat Full of Advice
Submitted by: Monica of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania
A fun game is to give each shower guest a slip of paper and tell them to write a few words of wisdom or advice for the bride-to-be. Put all the slips into a hat and have the bride read each advice out loud and to guess who's giving the advice.

Cake Created out of Towels
Submitted by: Cheryl Gabiola Galvez, Woodbury, New York
This is not really a game but more of a decoration. Some people have inquired about a cake made out of towels that will initially be used as decoration but then be given to the bride after the bridal shower.

You will need brand new four bath towels, four hand towels, and four washcloths. Fold the bath towels lengthwise, in fourths. With a large safety pin, connect the folded towels end to end. Start at one end and roll the towels up. When you reach the end of the towel, secure with pins. Follow the same procedure for the hand towels and then again for the washcloths. Stack the rolls of towels with the bath towels on the bottom, the hand towels in the middle, and the washcloths on top. Secure all three layers together with pins. Now you can begin decorating the "cake" with ribbons, beads or floral.

How Many Inside the Walnut Shell?
Submitted by: Kathy of Ceredo, West Virginia
Carefully crack open a walnut shell and place small objects inside of it (eg: a penny, a fuse, a small safety pin ,etc.). In all, my aunt ended up with 30 things in the shell.

Playing Dress Up
Submitted by: Kristen S. of Canton, Ohio
This is a variation of "Dress Up". We played it and it was so funny our guests were nearly crying from laughing so hard! Instead of the bride-to-be getting dressed, I substituted my mother-in-law to-be and my mother. We divided the guests into two teams and gave them 5 minutes to dress the moms for the reception. My MOH and I had gone to thrift stores and found the craziest dresses, shoes, bras and even boas! The pictures were absolutely hilarious and my moms had a blast! Even grandma got into it!!

Getting Dressed in the Dark
Submitted by: Angela of California
I went to a friends shower not long ago and they played a really fun game that had everyone in stitches! First of all, they blindfolded the bride. They they told everyone that it was the wedding night and the electricity has gone out. The bride has to find her luggage and get dressed. Prior to this, they had taken clothes from the groom (including underwear), and stuffed it into a duffel bag. The bride then proceeded to get dressed in HIS clothes. When she was finally done, they took the blindfold off and let her look in the mirror. She had his shirt on as pants and socks on as gloves. It was hilarious, and made for great pictures!

Scrambled Words
Submitted by: M.D.S. of McVeytown, Pennsylvania
This game is "scrambled words" with a personal touch. Scramble some of the usual wedding-related words like church, wedding ring, bride, and groom. Throw in some personal ones, too (the couple's last name or the wedding month). The phrase "The Smith's" jumbled as "het sh'istm" will have everyone confused!

Saying Something Nice
Submitted by: M.D.S. of McVeytown, Pennsylvania
I went to a bridal shower given by the sister-in-law to be. It was made up of mostly older women (friends of the groom's mother). Instead of playing any games, each guest was allowed to ask the bride any question while she opened their present. It was a very nice thing to do. People asked things like "What do you love most about the groom?" or "How did you meet the groom?" It was nice for a group of people who didn't really know the bride but wanted to be there because they know and care about the groom.

Household Cleaner Letter: Version 3
Submitted by: Tania T. of Brooklyn, New York
It all began with a simple Jell-O.
Groom's name was GLAD to meet Bride's name and before they knew it, he was calling her SUGAR and she was calling him HONEY.
They made a MY-T-FINE couple. Groom thought Bride was EXTRA special and she thought he was FANTASTIK.
But as soon as he was getting too lovey-DOVEY,
Bride wondered if she should S.O.S.her mother for her father's ARM AND HAMMER to help her out of such a PICKLE.
With such a ZESTY person, Groom realized that he better handle with care or he would lose the JOY of his LIFE.
If anyone got a CLOSE-UP look, you could see the SPARKLE in his eyes.
Groom knew his SPATULA days were over.
A DIAMOND for Bride and a yes response with HUGS AND KISSES for Groom.
Best Wishes for the CHARMIN couple and their BRITE future. Together they will PLEDGE their vows with GULDEN rings on Wedding Date.
A Hawaiian honeymoon will follow. Let's hope they will feel the OCEAN SPRAY on their faces and receive many Hawaiian LEIS.

Household Cleaner Letter: Version 4
Submitted by: Tania T. of Brooklyn, New York
Here's another poem that I found:
On the date of (wedding date), bride and groom will PLEDGE themselves to each other.
It's no SECRET we are sure you will be filled with JOY!
We know you think your HONEY is FANTASTIC, but your CHARMIN fella may not always be MR. CLEAN!
So when you find yourself in a JAM, remember it is JUST RIGHT, to make up with a little SNUGGLE and some KISSES.
We wish you all the best in your new LIFE together.
May your FUTURE together be nothing but BRITE!
HUGS AND KISSES

Melt That Ice Cube
Submitted by: Brenda B. of Monahans, Texas
Prepare ice cubes before the bridal shower. But before you place the tray in the freezer, place a small item in it. For example, a plastic bride or groom or other trinket related to weddings. At the bridal shower, serve each guest a small plastic cup containing one of these ice cubes. Explain to each guest that they cannot touch their cube with their hands or anything else. They cannot take the ice cube out of the cup. They must warm the cup with their hands or other body parts. The first to "deliver the baby" or simply melt the ice cube wins a prize. It takes 10-15 minutes and it gives guests something to do while you serve the food, while the bride opens the presents or while the guests mingle. You will see nicely dressed women become animals as they try to melt their ice cubes.

Grab the Clothespins
Submitted by: Liz C. of Dallas, Texas
You'll need a clothes hanger and some clothespins. Clip the pins onto the bottom of the hanger. The object of the game is to see how many clothes pins you can take off of the hanger using only one hand. The one with the most pins in their hand wins a prize. This game is known in the Mexican culture. The number of pins collected symbolize how much clothes you've hung over the years. It's a fun and challenging game.

Pin The Tail On The Male
Submitted by: Rachel of Auckland, New Zealand
Blow up a photo of the groom-to-be and attach it to a sketch of the outline of a man's body. Get 2 or 3 of those LONG balloons and blow them up in different lengths. Each guest has a turn at trying to "Pin The Tail To The Male" while blindfolded. We named the balloons Tom, Dick and Harry, and the bride-to-be got to choose who got which balloon. The person who sticks her balloon nearest to the pre-marked "G-Spot" wins a novelty prize. Great for a good laugh. Especially when everyone does male sound effects, and some decide to stick the balloon in other places.

Dress Designer
Submitted by: by Yvonne L. of Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Gather groups of two women each. One girl is the model the other is the designer. The bride leaves the room. Using toilet paper, the designer designs what the bride will wear on her honeymoon. The bride then chooses her favorite design.
