"Teddy" in a Box
Submitted by: A. S. of Seattle, Washington
This game is a
variation of the "Hot Potato" game. Give out the impression that the
box contains a "teddy." Whomever holds
the box when the music stops must open the box in
the back room and then model the
"teddy" for all to see. The
"teddy" is actually a small stuffed
teddy bear that the winner gets to keep!

What's in the Box
Submitted by: M. B-M. of Manila, Philippines
The bride is
blindfolded and is handed a box. She opens the
box and tries to guess what's inside it by
touching/smelling the object. She will guess at
least 4 different objects (be sure to prepare
things she can use on her wedding night). After
she guesses all the objects, her blindfold is
removed and each object is revealed. This is
quite hilarious because, most of the time, the
bride can't guess an object correctly.

I'm Ready, Honey!
Submitted by: M. B-M. of Manila, Philippines
You will need 2
groups with 4 members each, a set of lingerie
(bra, panty, night gown and slippers), and 2
poles or chairs where the players will walk
around. The first player will wear the lingerie
(over her own clothes, of course). As she walks
(not runs) around the pole/chair she removes the
lingerie and "tags" the next player and
so on and so forth. The group that finishes first
(all fOur Story members have worn and removed the
lingerie) wins.

Picture of the Groom
Submitted by: Stephany of Barry's Bay, Ontario
Give each of the
guests a piece of paper and pen/pencil. Tell them
to put the piece of paper on their head and that
they have to draw a picture of the Groom in his
underwear. The bride-to-be picks the drawing that
she likes the best and the artist gets a prize. I
played this at one shower and it was great fun to
see the results. Also, the pictures taken of the
guests writing on their head makes for great
blackmail shots!!

Roll the Orange
Submitted by: R. Thorne of Kamloops
You need a pair of
pantyhose and 2 oranges. Put one orange on the
floor and the other in one leg of the pantyhose.
Tie the other leg (of the pantyhose) around your
waist. The object is for you to swing your hips
and hit the orange (that you placed on the floor)
across a designated area in the best time. You
could also have 2 teams and have a relay.

Commercial Jingles
Submitted by: R. Thorne of Kamloops
Get about 10
commercial jingles before the party. Have each
person write down their answers on a piece of
paper. The one with the most correct jingles
wins. Some examples: "Bleach for the
unbleachables (Javex)" and "The Real
thing (Coke)."

Brand Name
Submitted by: L. H. of Dallas, Texas
Cut out 12 - 15
pictures of grocery/cleaning/drug items out of a
grocery sale paper or magazine. Paste them onto
index cards and take a black marker to mark
through the brand name. Then number the cards.
Pass numbered sheets of paper out to each guest
and then pass the cards around the room, letting
everyone look at the brand and write down the
brand name. The person with the most correct
brand names wins!

Pin Search
Submitted by: L. H. of Dallas, Texas
Dump a bag of
uncooked white rice into a bowl. Insert about ten
normal-sized safety pins and go around the room
to each person. Hold the bowl up high enough so
that the person cannot see inside and give them
30 seconds to pull out as many safety pins as
possible. The person who pulls out the most pins
wins! Believe me, the game is much harder than it
seems and is a lot of fun!

Treasure Hunt
Submitted by: M. D. of Wheaton, Maryland
The object of the
game is to find the buried treasure in a bowl of
cooked oatmeal. However, the bowl is to be place
above the player's head so the player will not
know what is inside the bowl. Then, each player
is given ten to thirty seconds (ten is for an
advance player and thirty is for a beginner) to
"fish" for the treasure. Gloves can be
used for this game but to make the game more
exciting gloves shouldn't be used.

Canned Goods w/o the Labels
Submitted by: The Maid-of-Honor in Van Wert
A great game for
everyone is to have each guest bring a canned
good to the shower. Prior to the shower, have the
Groom answer a set of questions that pertain to
the bride (her favorite color, where they first
met, what she was wearing on their first date).
After getting his answers, have the guests ask
the bride the questions at the shower. If her
answers aren't compatible to the Groom's, rip the
label off the canned good that the guest brought.
At the end of the shower the bride has about a
dozen canned goods with no labels. We played this
game and the bride told me later that they ate
green beans and peaches together for a lot of
meals.

Thank You Cards
Submitted by: J. P. of Hawthorne, New Jersey
At my bridal shower,
my sister had everyone write their name and
address on an envelope she supplied to all the
guests. After I opened my gifts, I went around to
all the tables to say "thank you" at
which time my sister collected the envelopes from
the table I was visiting. From the 8 -10
envelopes, she fanned them out like a hand of
cards and told me to pick one. Whosoever card I
picked "won" the centerpiece of flowers
on the table. Also, the envelopes were from a
package of "Thank You" cards, which
were already addressed for me to use! What a big help!

Questions for the Bride
Submitted by: J. K. of Calgary, Alberta
This shower game can be used for a bridal or couple's shower. If it
is for a bridal shower then the maid-of-honor should call the Groom before the
shower and ask him all sorts of questions about the bride. Questions like "What
was her very first pet?", "Who was her first kiss?", and "What high school did
she go to?" At the shower everyone has an opportunity, including the bride
to answer the questions. Whoever gets the most questions correct wins. It's
fun to also read the answers the Groom gave and see how close they were.

Visual Story
Submitted by: Tanya of Calgary, Alberta
One of the bridesmaids creates a visual story using the bride and
her fiance as a theme. The story should be about ten sentences long and each
sentence should contain a subject which can be easily drawn. Be sure to use really
descriptive action-related words that could be drawn out as the story is read.
Each guest is instructed to draw the images that the story relays on a piece
of paper. The only catch is that they must draw the story on the top of their
head. Take your time and read the story slowly so that each guest has time to draw.
After you are finished gather all the pictures and judge which picture
most resembles the story. This make for some hilarious and funny pictures and
is a great keepsake for the bride's album.

Pin the Veil on the Bride
Submitted by: P. Carpio of Blue Island, Illinois
Play pin the veil on the bride. Just like pin the tail on the
donkey. You can draw a profile of a bride and make a pretty veil. All the
guests get a turn and the closest one gets a prize. We had a great time changing
the position of the "bride" (put her upside down) while the guests were blind
folded.

Who Am I?
Submitted by: S. C. of Tacoma, Washington
Each guest is sent a 3x5 card with their invitation. The guest is to type out a
memory they have with the bride. They do NOT include their name. Then, at the
shower the bride reads the cards and has to guess who wrote down that memory.
It is a great game because it gives the bride a stack of memories and also allows
"strangers" at the shower to get to know how others know the bride.
