To make your wedding ceremony and reception come alive with beauty, we
have a few helpful hints about how to choose your wedding flowers...
The first question you'll probably have, is that there are so many
florists out there...how do I choose the right one? Here are some
helpful hints:
- Get at least 2 or 3 different estimates.
- Bring pictures that you have cut out of magazines of styles, flowers
and ideas you like.
- Bring swatches of all the bridal party's dresses (You can cut a piece
of material off the hem). Also, bring a picture of your bridal gown.
- Ask your florist for photos of weddings they have done as well as
examples of their work.
- Make sure they are available on your wedding date.
- Choose flowers that are in season in your area to keep the cost down.
- Get an estimate in writing. Make sure all the costs are stated (i.e.
some florists charge extra for delivery, set up, and break down).
- If you are ready to choose a florist, get a contract that spells out
everything.
- If you put down a deposit, make sure you get a written receipt.
- A month before your wedding call the florist and make sure they are
still doing your event.
- A few days before your wedding call again.
