VALENTINE'S WEDDING

What to do with all of those Heart Shaped candy boxes? Make it into a floral arrangement!

Here's how you do it:

  1. Line the box with a piece of plastic (a garbage bag will do).
  2. Cut a piece of floral foam into a heart shape so that it fits into the candy box.
  3. Submerge the foam in water until it is fully soaked.
  4. Prepare your flowers. We suggest, a combination of Roses and Carnations or a few bunches of Violets. Cut your stems short and rid all bottom leaves.
  5. Arrange your flowers in the foam. Pay careful attention to the top of the heart when shaping.

SPRING WEDDING

March

Spring is coming, so why not have your table arrangements reflect that. March features one of my favorite flowers... Rannunculus. They have a great scent and a beautiful bloom and they come in a variety of colors. A beautiful basket arrangement with yellow and orange rannunculus, lilies and yellow roses could be quite spectacular.

April

For a charming and romantic display this month I have selected daffodils and sweetpeas arranged in tea cups, and or china bowls. Mix and match...have fun!

May

For a fun, outdoor and informal wedding why not try this table arrangement... using a small tree stump with a dish (the bottom part of a terrocotta pot) sitting on top of the tree stump with a arrangement using curly willow, tulips, roses, lilies, some trailing ivy.

SUMMER WEDDING

June

This month I’d like to feature Lilacs. They have a heavenly scent and are absolutely gorgeous all by themselves. Lilacs come in a pale blueish/lavender to a deep, rich purple and white. For a beautiful medium size vase display, arrange 6-8 branches of a few different colors and combine with 6-8 iceberg roses.

July

Red, Blue or White vase or urn filled with Red and White Roses, Queen Anne's Lace and Delphinium. Happy 4th of July!

August

Lilies of all colors are so beautiful on their own. I love to take two of three stems of lilies and put them into a bud vase with some greenery. Remember to pick out the stamens (those small things in the center of the lilies — but leave the middle one) or the pollen will collect and stain your tablecloth and clothes.

FALL WEDDING

September

Sunflowers, Dahlias and Zinnias make a colorful reminder that summer is not over! I like to combine all of these glorious colors from bright yellows of the sunflowers to pink and burgundy Dahlias and scarlet Zinnias in a large urn with some oasis (floral foam). What a glorious blast of color!
